Caroline Dunne

Caroline is an experienced organisational design and business transformation specialist with over 25 years of senior leadership roles in the higher education. Her particular expertise is in business strategy, planning, and implementing strategic change. Caroline has been directly accountable to senior executives and has been a member of executive teams.

An experienced relationship builder across diverse stakeholder groups, Caroline is results driven and known for achieving strategic outcomes in complex environments.  With direct experience from diverse higher education institutions in the UK and Australia and having held positions at the Departmental and Faculty level, in a Research Institute, as well as within central portfolios Caroline, has a strong track record of building rapport and promoting effective collaboration. Caroline’s real strength and indeed passion lie in working with teams and individuals to build organisational agility and capability.

She brings exceptional strategic thinking, planning and implementation and has led and played significant advocacy roles in the design and implementation of large scale change initiatives resulting in organisational and cultural change. These responsibilities have required the identification of emerging issues, the development of innovative solutions and implementation within short timeframes. Caroline has specific expertise in business transformation and major organisational change initiatives that have a focus on:

  • Organisation re-design and development both for reasons of either/both cost reduction and service improvement
  • Program management and governance in complex stakeholder environments
  • Driving cultural change by promoting enthusiasm, determination and high achievement within a value-based framework that prioritises integrity, inclusion and collaboration
  • Relationship management through building and sustaining constructive and collaborative relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders

Caroline holds an MBA from one of the best business schools in the world and is a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner. She is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Director’s programme which is Australia’s premier program focused on boardroom performance, corporate governance, the practice of Directorship, the legal environment, risk and strategy, financial literacy and performance, and achieving board effectiveness.

Caroline’s most recent role was Chief of Staff to the Vice-Chancellor at Griffith University in Australia. She has also held senior positions at The University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, the University of Exeter, and the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
