Over 20 years of experience developing and leading ambitious, frontline teams spanning HE, the arts, health and overseas development.
Most recently, Catherine was Partnerships Manager at the South West Academic Health Science Network, before moving to University of Birmingham where she is currently Interim Deputy Director of Development (Engagement).
She delivered the University of Exeter’s first ever philanthropic campaign, raising £25 million one year ahead of target, and has advised some of the leading names in UK higher education, schools and arts organisations on their fundraising, income generation, structure and strategy.
Catherine provided Interim Deputy Director of Development to Queen’s University, Belfast providing line management provision, coaching and strategic planning support to the Fundraising and Development Services teams.
Prior to consultancy, Catherine established the University of Exeter’s £54m flagship Living Systems Institute in a cutting-edge new building with 250 new members of scientific staff. Catherine has developed and implemented multi-million-pound business plans and managed annual income and expenditure budgets of £10m.
Active in the community sector in Exeter, Catherine is a member of the management committee for TedxExeter, Exeter’s festival of ideas whose talks are translated in up to 34 languages and have been viewed over 20 million times by a global audience.
