Maureen is former University Secretary at University of London until 2018, and experienced at leading mergers, transitions and major change programmes. She is a governance expert with senior-level HE experience across a number of colleges and member institutions of the federal University.
Her recent governance consultancy appointments include Westminster University, University of London, Royal College of Arts, and Royal Academy of Music. Her experience includes the leadership of professional services, whole-institutional change, governance, audit and risk, and strategic development.
Her consultancy and advisory experience across the sector includes governor training, Board behaviour, effectiveness reviews, and governance development. She recently managed the passing of a new Act of Parliament to enable a historic change to the structure of University of London federation and its member institutions.
Maureen was COO/Head of Professional Services in two HE institutions and Secretary to the Board in three. She served on the HEFCW Quality Assurance Committee until 2017, and is presently Trustee of a significant regional heritage charity.
Maureen received an MBE for services to Higher Education in 2015, and in 2018 was named as one of the University of London’s 150 “Leading Women” throughout its 150 years of providing university education to women. She was awarded an Honorary Fellowship in 2019.
