Peter has more than 20 years’ experience of delivering strategic change in public and private education. He has held senior positions at London South Bank University, the Treloar Trust, the University of Cumbria, the University of Salford, the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art, Regent College London and the London Film School.
Core to Peter’s approach is a belief in the transformational potential of dynamic leadership, based on open communication and a realistic appreciation of environment and key stakeholders. He is a pragmatist who works with teams to take strategy out of the aspirational and into the day-to-day positive lived experience for students and staff. He can lead change or provide additional support, capacity and capability to leadership teams at whichever stage in the process that they have reached: analysis, option appraisal and choice, or implementation. His extensive experience of institutional leadership, combined with successful direction of major projects, means that he is trusted to provide objective and holistic advice to Boards faced with decisions of institutional sustainability.
Prior to his career in education, Peter was in the British Army. He specialised in field communications but occupied a wide variety of roles, and for five years had the privilege of serving with Gurkhas. He is a graduate of the Joint Services Command and Staff College and MBA.
