Rachael is a Principal Consultant for Halpin and is highly skilled fundraising leader.
An experienced consultant with demonstrated results in the higher education, education and non-profit sectors Rachael has perspective of all sides of delivery for clients seeking external support having been a project manager, a consultant and heading up Halpin’s Client Services team recruiting and managing 50+ Consulting Fellows on delivery.
As a consultant Rachael has particular expertise in creating, developing, and nurturing teams, and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders. She has led and delivered a wide variety of projects as a consultant, including interim leadership, feasibility studies and reviews of HE governance and strategy. She is adept at building relationships and facilitating consultations and workshops with leadership, donors, governors and Trustees.
Prior to joining Halpin Rachael was the Director of Development and Alumni Relations at Exeter School, creating their first fundraising strategy and launching their first fundraising campaign and held roles as an Alumni Officer and Development Manager at the University of Exeter.
She began her career in consultancy with US fundraising firm Graham-Pelton advising clients across the non-profit sector in the UK and Ireland. Her many and varied projects included as interim Director of Development for the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) where she laid the groundwork for a million-pound fundraising campaign, worked on the Case for Support and key messaging, and established the Campaign Advisory Board.
An experienced trainer and mentor, Rachael coached the permanent Director of Development at RUSI and has also been a CASE Graduate Mentor for Cardiff University. She has led training sessions for clients including the Institute for Development Professionals in Education (IDPE) and has previously been a part of their conference committee, as well as holding an Advisor role at PyroTalks CIC.
