Rachel has over 20 years of senior management experience in higher education and has worked with many clients to help them to deliver on their strategic plans. She is an expert in stakeholder consultations, interviews and observations.
Rachel was Senior Consultant on the review of governance effectiveness at the University of Kent, completing interviews with all of the Board and senior staff, observation of meetings, delivering Steering Group updates, and leading the final presentation to the Board. She was also part of the Leeds Trinity University governance effectiveness review team, carrying out interviews and desk review coordination. She has also identified and evidenced a number of market growth options for a UK Conservatoire for Halpin.
Rachel previously led a devolved marketing, recruitment and admissions service for the MBA and PGT programmes at Warwick Business School. She’s delivered a market assessment of the viability of education provision in Daventry for Northampton College, contributing to the decision to invest in a new £13m campus.
Rachel completed a course and market review for Fircroft College, a specialist adult residential college, leading to a redesign and restructuring of their course portfolio. She was the lead consultant on a project to identify and understand Sheffield Hallam University’s employer brand, resulting in recruitment and application reforms, and lead consultant for a University of Warwick project to better understand their alumni needs and identify where best to focus resource
Rachel is a regular speaker at sector conferences (e.g. CEAC, UHR, AMBA and UKCGE) on a range of marketing and recruitment topics.
