Rebecca is an experienced executive director. Her most recent position as part of the University Management Group and Director of External Relations at the University of Dundee included managing around 180 staff to support and enhance the University’s reputation by delivering a range of activities to attract students, staff and funding to the University. These activities included Student Recruitment and Admissions, Marketing, Communications, Public Affairs, Web and Creative Services, Alumni Relations and Fundraising.
She is also a board advisor, committee member and Chair, who has worked at senior leadership-level in the public sector, private companies (including start-ups and private equity-owned), public companies (both FTSE100 and AIM-listed) and membership organisations.
She has both executive and advisory experience across a broad range of sectors. These include education (primary, secondary and higher); health (medical equipment and biotech); energy (oil and gas); automotive (supply chain manufacturing) and government (local and economic development).
Her consulting and technical skills include working in highly regulated environments and operating within tight government frameworks; managing risk, both reputational and in relation to the external environment and society; managing relationships with funders; and strategic financial planning and creation of budgets. She brings strategic experience in digital media, brand management, marketing and PR and has also effectively driven culture change in different types of organisations.
Rebecca’s international experience includes developing new markets and working effectively across languages and cultures, enhanced by excellent linguistic skills – she speaks Russian (fluent), French and German.
