Richard has advised boards and management teams for over 30 years, on their financial management to improve transparency and clarity of decision. He works actively with teams on their financial strategy and business plans, aligning strategic advice with operational implementation. He has been teaching classes at London Business School since 2008, on restructuring and financial transparency.
A central theme of his work has been with board members and finance teams to ensure financial reporting is presented clearly, to enable board members to make informed decisions. More recently, he has been working on corporate ethics and governance and its impact on organisations and their external stakeholders.
He became honorary treasurer of SOAS, London University, in January 2021 and chairs the Resources & Planning committee. A key focus is to ensure academics, professional staff and student representatives have a clear understanding of the financial dynamics of the school.

He studied music at Oxford University and business studies at Harvard Business School. He was a managing director at Rothschild & Co for 14 years, before establishing his own consultancy, Monceau, which advises corporates and universities on financing.
